Watch One, Try One, Do One!

Core Educational Structure & Purpose
Peer on peer education or using learning to teach others, is accepted as a high gain and deeply effective cognitive and retention.   It far more profoundly impacts both players in the learning equation than lecture, text based or one way, instructional methods.
The WoToDo Program
The WoToDo comprises three broad Phases

Vox Bandicoot performs a theatre in education work relating to stormwater pollution, waste, bio-diverstity, energy, etc.  choosing from shows such as … “More Than Meets The Sky”, “Some Think Water Came Down In The Last Shower”, “Kung Fu Da Pu”, “Sideshow Sustainable & Kiss A Fish”, “A Little Bush Magic”, “Dr Shrub’n’Tree’n’Grass”, “Circus Sustainable”, etc ….

Focus;  Waste, Water, Energy or Biodiversity – all possible.
Vox Bandicoot is able to apply this formula to any area of sustainability lifestyle and behaviour modification.

Basic Format
A. Pre Program Teacher Briefing.

  • Teachers from participating schools invited to an overview meeting prior to the program for purposes of undertanding their role and also for the benefit of meeting each other whioch may permit some liaison and co-operation, particularly useful in the lead up to Children’s Week performance and Sustainability Festival.

B. Create Theatre To Change The World Guidelines

  • A collectionl of ideas and activities to assist you to assist students in using theatre and music to deliver effective community education”

C. Media Attention

  • WatchWorkDo provides irresistible material for content hungry media, local press, radio, television and beyond.
  • Importantly, such exposure is deeply rewarding & validating for the participants and assists in helping build the wider sustainability culture and knowledge.

D. Pre and post visit learning materials

  • Comprehensive, integrated, inquiry approach curriculum units provided prior to visit to school.

E.  Day One

  • Vox Bandicoot Performs theatre in education suited to focus area
  • Brief the students on the purpose and format of the Program … back for workshops, students then perform at the two Wyndham events.
  • Leave the Making Eco Theatre Booklet with them

F. Day Two

  • Three Classes, 90 or so kids,suitable for years 3/4 through to 7/8.

Possible Timetable: using StreetWatch, stormwater pollution topic for example

NB: Each Drama Workshop group is subdivided into three, each with a specific case of cossies and props to call there own.


Vox Bandicoot will staff & organise Drama Workshops and the Litter Recycle Show (or equivalent for Energy or other focus)

Liaison with local Council suggested to provide the Waste/Worms person.

Beyond the program, and using the Create Perfomance guidelines, many schoools continue to refine and rehearse their creation to take on to other performances in the school or in the wider community.
