"Environmental sustainability in the workplace is about the only game in town in which it’s like you can walk around and pick up $50 bills off the floor … only to find a couple of $100 bills hidden underneath.
The savings to be made are the bonus to the contribution which you are also making to the sustainability of natural systems. It’s that simple.

Workplace Ecotraining
Sustaining environmental Opportunities and Solutions

Four Fundamental Principles of SeOS
Whole of workplace ideal ...  from newest recruit to the CEO.  The most lateral of sustainability solutions and uptake of opportunities will be commensurate with the degree to which a “we” culture exists.   The democratisation of participation in workplace sustainability culture change is the engine room of such change.
Ecological Empathy is the launch pad for sustainability culture change.  We start by understanding and acknowledging responsibility for the impact that we, one species, has had upon the millions of other species and the great planetary natural systems such as climate, the atmosphere and the oceans.  We need also to reignite a personal connection to the exquisite beauty of the Earth.  And we need to draw great hope from the increasing environmental success stories and link them to the natural places, the species and the landforms we cherish.  An important segue here also is the view amongst all Australian thinkers in Sustainability, that reconciliation with Indigenous Australians will be critical to our understanding of the land and its sustainability. (Tricia Caswell ABC Radio Jan. 2002, Michael Krockenberger ACF Strategic Director at the AGTA Conference 2002, Alan Harris CEO Land Management CSIRO, Deakin Lecture, 2001) This change is Historically important and strikes at the heart of the most profound values and aspirations we have as humans.  It enables staff to understand WHY sustainability culture change is the most important workplace initiative.  The most critical challenge for organisational intellect and creativity in all of human history.   Highly relevant to us as people, our children, their futures, our communities and the natural places we love.
Organisational Sustainability.  Shareholder value will increasingly depend on the change to an ecologically respectful culture. …  no ecology/no economy  … no planet/no profit.  Sustainability is a close cousin of productivity and profitability.  Doing more with less.  Working smarter.  Natural Capitalism notion.  What’s more it’s all common sense, the answers are already happening, the variable is whether we are bright enough to get on board early enough.  It’s about intelligence and working smarter.  Einstein said, “… the solutions can not be found while we retain the mindset which created the problems.”
