Outcomes 1. In this approx. one and a half hour session which reaches all staff, participants will receive a“guarantee” that their ideas about sustainability will be acted upon by the organisation. A feedback loop will be promised. The staff will feel proud and motivated about being part of the organisation. They will be assured that they are working for a good, future oriented organisation whose performance matches its rhetoric. We will strongly recommend that sessions be introduced by Managers who make these statements. 2. To the maximum extent possible, participants will have an experience of the incredible beauty and fragility of the natural world. 3. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the state of the environment and the urgency with which society and organisations must act. 4. Participants will be inspired by the emerging cases of environmental initiative and improvement especially the advance in Ozone repair consequent of the Montreal Protocol of 1990.
5. Participants will receive full details of “just how organisational sustainability works including …
• Your sustainability action plan, policy, strategy, indicators or other. In addition to the broad sustainability behaviour which will flow from the SLOGO and later via the Enviro•Reps, participants will also be asked to identify an action in your strategy to make their own!
• This will then be integrated into the use of the Job Self Audit training booklet with which participants will leave the session. (see later) 6. Participants will be trained in the reporting channels and the role of the new Enviro•Reps. Volunteers will be sought. 7. Participants will be invited to explore the big values they wish to see in the future in relation to family, community and environment and to visualise an inspiringly clean, green and positive ecology and economy. 8. In workshop style, participants will be invited to offer their solutions and express where they see potential opportunities to enhance sustainability within the organisation. 9. Participants will be invited to engage in a role play conversation in the work place which aims to underscore the idea of a zero incidents/every opportunity mindset. 10. Without diluting the historical importance of sustainability culture change, participants will enjoy the humour, interactivity and fun which we work hard to bring to our programs for the profound philosophical reason that the issues are chillingly serious and that along the way we must enjoy life and be human while working hard to improve. 11. Participants will also enjoy the group work which will be an important part of the session and which will be balanced and couterposed with highly visual demonstation material and moments of entertaining fun such as The Sustainability Box, a light-hearted yet very inspiring and very interactive change of pace designed to break up the sessions.
We can guarantee that the majority if not everyone will say that this is one of the best, if not the very best training session they have ever attended. We are humbled and honoured to say that this has been our constant experience. Testimonial letters attesting to same from clients are attached. We invite you to call any of them.
