Blackburn Lakes Environmental Education Park - BLEEP - the hope of the precious, endangered, valley heathy forest!
Vox Bandicoot Cause Celebre
Blackburn Lakes Environmental Education Park ... or ... BLEEP is dedicated to sustaining a small remnant patch of precious, highly endangered Valley Heathy forest in suburban Melbourne. Millenia old biodiversity in the 'burbs! Unique in the world! Must be saved!

What a wonderful pair of Vege little Happymites eh? How could we not do everything possible to save the habitat of these powerful owl chicks who live in downtown Blackburn? Is that pretty "urban special" or what!?
There are over 400 trees and 15 different types of plant and groundcover species that make up Nunawading's "Valley Heathy Forest" . This is a vegetation class scientifically classified by the Department of Sustainability & Environment as ENDANGERED. There are now only 300- 400 Hectares of "Valley Heathy Forest" left in Victoria
The Valley Heathy campaign is so special to us because the very birth of Vox Bandicoot in August 1988, followed an education/media campaign which is acknowledged inhaving resulted in the survival of the then perilously endangered Helmeted Honeyeater. The thrust of our work since has been about lifestyle, values clarification and fostering the practice of and imagination for sustainable living. At the core of this must be the renewal of our personal relationships with nature and an ever increasing passion to protect and enhance biological diversity.

The Vox Bandicoot corporate workplace sustainability training program is both deep and wide. The days of the powerpoint blitz approach have come and gone. Vox delivers programs that build on our organisational strengths and are then driven by maximinsing partipation and ownership.
